The recently released American College of Cardiology-American Heart Association guidelines are in complete agreement with our practice philosophy that Mitral valve repair is recommended over mitral valve replacement in the majority of patients with severe chronic MR (leaking Mitral valves) who require surgery. Our practice has relocated to the Englewood Hospital and Medical Center. This exciting change has allowed for the expansion of our services to include the tremendous experience in aneurysm repair offered by Drs. Ergin and Klein which includes one of the largest minimally invasive thoracic endografting experiences in the country. We are also now able to provide cardiac surgical operations without the use of blood or blood products in 80% of all patients we operate on. Not receiving a blood transfusion during or after open heart surgery has been shown to improve both short term outcome from the procedure, and long term survival. |
